who writes
Yago Arriaga

Yago Arriaga was born and raised with the certainty that his story would, sooner or later, have to be told. He writes from his own experience: identity, desire, mental health, the body as both a battlefield and a place of peace.
His writing doesn't ask for permission. It blends chronicle, confession and fiction to speak about what is so often left unsaid: being an LGBT man in a world that still asks questions before it accepts.
En Pedazos, his most recent book, gathers fragments of a personal reconstruction told with exposed skin. Before it, 49 Días: Chronicles of a Pandemic recounted the lockdown, the fear and the tenderness of those months from a window in the city.

Official recognition
He is officially accredited as a writer by the Instituto Cultural de México en España, an institution of the Mexican Embassy, on the occasion of the 2022 Madrid presentation of the project “Orgullo LGBTIQ+: de México a España” (LGBTIQ+ Pride: From Mexico to Spain).
